Most Successful Teams and Drivers at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Formula 1

The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix joined Formula in 2021 and held its first race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit overlooking the red sea. In Formula 1’s fifth night race on the calendar and on the longest and fastest street circuit in F1 one can expect a ton of action.

The 2021 edition of the race had numerous restarts and included the heated controversial battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Here are the very first stats for the inaugural race in Saudi Arabia.

After plenty of controversial moments and near-race-ending incidents, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes reigned supreme in Jeddah. Max Verstappen had to content himself with second place as Valtteri Bottas stole third place from Esteban Ocon on the final stretch of the race. The championship standings were then tied between Hamilton and Verstappen heading into the last race of the season.

The Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia started its run in Formula 1 with one of the most entertaining races of the season. One thing is certain: predicting a winner on this circuit is not as easy as one might think because there will be safety cars and quite possibly a red flag forcing a standing restart. In both those cases, anyone’s lead can be lost allowing another driver a chance to take the lead.
