Most Successful Teams and Drivers at the Hungarian Grand Prix
Formula 1 and the Hungarian Grand Prix have provided a mixed bag of entertainment and boredom since 1986. The Hungaroring circuit, notorious for being an extremely difficult track for overtakes has managed to have some wild finishes over the years.
Having an excellent pit strategy coupled with nailing pole position during qualifying are key to victory. Schumacher was definitely a beast in Hungary, but Lewis Hamilton was by far the most successful driver there. Winning eight races and adding multiple podiums Hamilton’s record will most likely never be surpassed. He may even add his ninth win in the 2022 edition of the race.
McLaren on the other side of the spectrum is the most successful team to race in Hungary winning eleven times with the likes of Senna, Hakkinen, Raikkonen, and Hamilton at the Helm. The Hungarian GP will remain on the F1 schedule until 2027.
